the celestial theorem

by Kyle Talag

you’re a celestial that outcries
my smoking gun.
a godly nimbus halo on your head;
wounded butterflies in my stomach.
i have contradicted my feelings
while i soak in my own myth.
outside that house on pillar street,
we are sanctified parallel lines.
as the touch of your silk chiffon
is the root of my dreamland;
conjuring the slope of your cheeks,
you are standing in your white dress.
nothing will ever change
and god will never rule
inside the anarchy of my heart;
you determined me just now,
pretty girl—we will meet again,
somehow.
